Roadtrip to Bennington!

Brian and I found someone on Craigslist who sells surplus rigid, polyisocyanurate insulation from a warehouse in Bennington, VT. We decided the price was worth it to unload the box trailer and take it across the twin states. We unloaded the double patio door, 7 windows, 2 skylights and their flashing kits, and 40+ sheets of 4’x8’ ZIP system and headed west!

We were able to purchase the insulation sheets for just about half of their price new at any building supply or home improvement stores. We purchased 4”-thick rigid for the floors because the floor joists were exactly 4” deep. We purchased 1”-thick rigid boards to layer on the roof, and the walls will be sprayed-in insulation. All boards were 4’x8’ and everything fit perfectly within the trailer!

The ride out there was beautiful and we just had to stop by Hogback Mountain to take photos on our way out there.
